Cooltoolsforschools would be good for students transitioning from reading/composing story books to reading short chapter books. The major downside to this tool is that you cannot add illustrations, only text--student creativity suffers, as illustrations often aid comprehension. Positives--as the teacher, this tool would be simple to use in the classroom, and is extremely accessible.. students could create illustrations based on text composed by the teacher, and visa versa.

Tagxedo is a website that turns text into tag clouds. Tag clouds are words in the shapes of pictures. Tagxedo organizes the words by size and the more frequently the word is used in the text you have chosen the larger it will appear in your tag cloud.

Accessibility: This tool is free and fairly accessible. All you have to do is copy and paste. There are many editing options and students could have a lot of fun with this.

Benefits/Drawbacks: Benefits- This is a creative way to organize poetry, to illustrate a story with words. It could even be used as a brainstorming tool.
Drawbacks- Limited number of shapes you can use, you most likely won't be able to read a text coherently in this format. It also doesn't assist students with the actual task of writing. It is more for display and personalization- best used as an extra.

Rating: 4 (better than neutral, but not the best for academic use)
